Did you know that only about 20% of Americans have read the Bible in full? A majority (53%) have only heard a few passages and stories from the Holy Book!

That’s something that we want to change for the next generation. So, if you’re a parent, then you’re likely interested in introducing Bible stories to your child. You don’t want to overwhelm, scare, or confuse them, though.

It’s also difficult to know where or how to get started.

Never fear; we’ve compiled this guide of Bible stories for kids to help you get your child involved in God’s story.

Exodus: Let My People Go!

When it comes to Bible stories for adults or kids, Exodus is often a great starting point.

While your children may not know much yet, it’s likely that they were born with an idea of ‘fairness’ or justice. They can understand how it feels and what it means to get oppressed by authority figures.

That’s why Exodus can help your child form a worldview that supports justice and fairness. When God saw what the pharaoh was doing to his people, he led his people to safety. He also gave the pharaoh plenty of time to change his heart, too.

Exodus teaches how to lean on God in times when the world isn’t being fair.

It also teaches kids more about the powers and principalities that lurk around the world. They’ll learn more about Beelzebub and other pagan ‘gods’ from antiquity. Then, they’ll learn how God overcomes them.

Noah’s Ark

As a young child, we are often taught by society to conform or get left behind. The Bible, though, teaches a different lesson.

In Noah’s Ark, we learn how important it is to rely on what we know and feel is right. Even when everyone else mocks or laughs at us, we must rely on God.

David and Goliath

While we are young, everything in the world feels gigantic. It’s normal to feel too small to make a real difference.

That’s why you need to teach your kids about David and Goliath! With God by your side, it doesn’t matter how insurmountable the situation seems. You will come out on top.

The Birth of Jesus

Of course, the birth of Jesus is one of the best stories to share with your kids.

You can tie this theme into every Christmas holiday! You can use online Bible stories, movies, or songs to help celebrate and teach your child.

Bible Stories Your Kids Will Love

Are you interested in introducing Bible stories to your youngster? If so, then we recommend starting with this list of Bible stories.

Of course, everyone’s spiritual journey is an individual one, so make changes as you see fit. What we don’t recommend, though, is telling Bible stories in order and in full to your kids. Not only will they lose interest, but they may even get confused, too.
